Discord Instructions

In this course, we will use Discord for communication, including class announcements and online help. Therefore, you are REQUIRED to join the course Discord server.

To join the server, follow these instructions:

1. Create a Discord account (if you don’t already have one): https://discord.com/
2. Install the Discord desktop app on your laptop/computer. (It works better than the web app.)
3. Submit your Discord username via the username-collection form specified in Canvas (see under Announcements).
4. Join the server by clicking the invitation link also provided in Canvas.

Note: When you first join, the server will appear empty. The instructor will have to manually add you to the student group, and it may take a little while to get to you. Please be patient!

Once you have joined the server:

• Check it daily for announcements and questions from other students.
• Post any questions/thoughts you have to the appropriate channel.
• Consider using the Discord mobile app to receive notifications.
